You can read a little more about it all here, but I thought I’d just explain the process here so that you know what’s going on when the series starts (tomorrow).

Unless otherwise stated all papers or fabrics used in these exercises has been painted or dyed by me. I very rarely use commercial papers, but sometimes recycle pages from magazines etc.

Each day my creative time involves a quick snatch of ‘something’. Papers are painted – experiments with colour and texture. As the day goes on these are used in various ways, but at the end….. there are always scraps.

As an artist these scraps, of course, are far too precious to throw away! The nine-patch is a way of preserving some of these scraps. Sometimes what you will see will be the ‘waste’ from yesterday.

If you have any questions, please ask in the comments. I hope you find the series of some interest to you.
